The seventh week of Strictly Come Dancing 2008 has seen the 10 remaining couples each performing a different dance. And as usual, the performances divided the judges, with praise and criticism coming in equal measures. However, it was the opening dance of the show, from Austin Healy and Erin Boag, which elicited the most enthusiastic response - with the rugby star scoring the first 10 of the series. "Austin the majestic delivers another bravura performance. It was great," Bruno Tonioli said of his quickstep, while Arlene Phillips praised his "dazzling execution". Jodie and Ian also impressed the judges with their waltz, with Len Goodman describing it as "the perfect dance" for the model. "You charmed me," added Arlene, "and I hope you charmed all the viewers at home." There was also praise for Lisa and Brendan's tango - which Bruno called "strictly irresistible" and Tom and Camilla's fiery paso doble. "You've got the passion and drama of the dance," Len Goodman told them. However, it wasn't such good news for Heather and Brian, performing the cha cha cha. "It lacked so much bite it was like a cha cha cha with dentures," Bruno told the pair - while Arlene was similarly cutting about Andrew Castle's samba. "Instead of Andrew Castle, you've got to be more of a bouncy castle," she complained. And John Sergeant once again failed to impress the panel with his foxtrot, despite remaining popular with the public. "It's a case of the old fox running out of tricks," Bruno told him. "I can't have a go at the others about their technique and not you," Len added, "this isn't Help The Aged!" Meanwhile, Cherie received a mixed response to her salsa with James, as did Christine for her American Smooth. "The dress was red hot but the salsa was not," Bruno complained of Cherie. Craig Revel Horwood described her routine as "a little bit too careful". And Arlene had some harsh words for Christine. "The top half truly was Hollywood," she said, "but down here it was dead wood." Rachel and Vincent rounded off the show with a jive - and once again the panel were divided. Bruno described her as a "firecracker", but Len wasn't so sure, saying the dance was "competent" but lacked excitement. The results will be revealed on Sunday evening's show, which will also feature a performance from Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones.
