‘It’s killing Aaron to keep quiet about Robert,’ says Emmerdale’s Danny Miller

Aaron and Robert’s secret affair gets even more passionate. But Emmerdale’s Danny Miller tells Soaplife it will all go badly wrong…

Against his better judgement, Aaron has fallen for bad boy Robert Sugden. But the conniving blond stud has made it quite clear that the gay affair will be off once he’s married. “Robert needs to be careful,” Danny tells Soaplife. “Aaron’s an emotional person who isn’t good at off-loading his problems. He’s much more into the affair than Robert realises…”

What does Aaron see in Robert (Ryan Hawley)?

“He’s a good-looking guy and he’s rich, although Aaron’s never been attracted to anyone like that before. He always wants to be in control of his relationships and, this time, Robert has the power. Aaron meant it when he told Robert money wouldn’t buy him, but he does enjoy the finer things in life.”

Does Aaron trust Robert?

“Well, Robert isn’t someone Aaron would tell his deepest, darkest secrets to. Initially, Aaron enjoyed the danger and thought Robert was feeling exactly what he was. But he’s starting to suspect that he’s quite wrong.”

How hard is it for Aaron to keep quiet about Robert?

“It’s killing him not to be able to tell Paddy [Dominic Brunt], Chas [Lucy Pargeter] and Adam [Adam Thomas] that he’s found someone. But Aaron doesn’t want to break up a home, which is why he isn’t saying anything. He grew up in a broken home and he wouldn’t want to inflict that on anybody else.”

Does Aaron hope Robert will leave Chrissie (Louise Marwood) for him?

“Robert’s told Aaron that once he’s married, he’s Chrissie’s and that’s all there is to it. Aaron’s having to deal with that and he’s gutted. For the first time in his life, he’s experiencing jealousy.”

What’s in store for Aaron?

“It looks like he’s set for heartbreak.”

Will he be able to cope with it?

“We’ll have to wait and see, although we already know that he self-harmed because he couldn’t deal with his problems.”
