Struggling with the fallout from recent events on Doctors, Daniel Granger finally decides to face his demons and start counselling sessions

Struggling under the weight of his woes, Dr Daniel Granger (played by Matthew Chambers) has finally decided to take his colleague Jimmi Clay's (Adrian Lewis Morgan) advice and try some counselling sessions in an attempt to move on with his life on Doctors (1:45pm on BBC One, see our TV Guide for full listings).

Daniel's ex, Zara Carmichael (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) is pressuring him to let her introduce her new fella Adam Regan (Edward MacLiam) to their young son, Joe.

On top of that, Daniel also recently broke-up with girlfriend Becky Clarke after they were both dealt some SHOCK news about the baby they thought they were going to have together.

But when Daniel's first counselling session with therapist Silas Truman (Andrew MacBean) gets going, the medic realises there is a whole lot more going on, as he opens up about his competitive relationship with Zara and he felt when she angrily lashed out at his daughter Izzie Torres.

Silas suggests Daniel starts a video diary. Could it help the troubled Dr Daniel Granger process his feelings?

Elsewhere in Letherbridge, Karen (Jan Pearson) and Rob Hollins (Chris Walker) have agreed to a new fostering placement for a girl called Martha.

However, alarm bells start ringing immediately when Karen discovers Martha has a nut allergy.

Dr Emma Reid (Dido Miles) tries to help by reminding Karen how to use an epi pen in case of an allergy attack, and also warns her to make sure there are no nut products in the Hollins house too.

But as Karen's anxiety kicks-in over the situation, she is already in a panic over how they are going to keep Martha alive!

Meanwhile, surgery nurse Ayesha Lee's (Laura Rollins) cousin Kayleigh Jackson (Laura Hopper) is back on the scene.

And this time it looks like Kayleigh literally wants to follow in Ayesha's footsteps when she reveals she wants to become a nurse!

Ayesha is not convinced, since Kayleigh isn't exactly the academic type.

However, Kayleigh isn't about to let Ayesha ruin her plans. So she sneaks into the toilets at the surgery and changes into a nurse's uniform!

But could all this effort just be to impress a man, Brian Allbright (played by ex-Hollyoaks star James Redmond)?
