Will Zara secretly be crushed when she discovers estranged husband Daniel is taking new girlfriend Becky for a romantic weekend getaway on Doctors?

No-nonsense Zara Carmichael (played by Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) is not happy about the sympathy she's been getting from her surgery co-workers on Doctors, now her estranged husband Daniel Granger (Matthew Chambers) is officially in a new relationship with their colleague Becky Clarke (Ali Bastian).

However, Zara must try to be the bigger person in today's episode of Doctors, when she finds out Daniel is taking Becky away for the weekend... to a boutique hotel she'd once hoped he would take her to.

Can Zara accept that dream is long gone?

Emma Reid (Dido Miles) tries to distract Zara from thinking about Daniel and Becky, by telling her about ANOTHER dream she has had about policeman Rob Hollins (Chris Walker)! What is going on?

Zara bluntly concludes that Emma must fancy Rob, and winds the medic up by buying her a plastic policeman's helmet!

However, will Rob's wife, surgery receptionist Karen Hollins (Jan Pearson) see the funny side when she catches the pair joking around?

Meanwhile, Jimmi Clay (Adrian Lewis Morgan) is concerned about Phil Sutton (Jack Bennett), who has lost faith in all medical professionals, as the fate of his and wife Theresa's (Ibinabo Jack) premature baby Josh hangs in the balance.

Can Jimmi and midwife Ruhma Carter (Bharti Patel) find a way to support Theresa and Phil as they fight to save their son?

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.
