Pregnant Mandy Richardson is devastated when medics break some upsetting news at the hospital

Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) has rushed to hospital after thinking she is losing her baby.

Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) has temporarily put their differences behind them and goes with her as support but gets increasingly annoyed when she can’t get hold of Darren, her ex and the father of Mandy’s baby.

Unable to track Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) down, Nancy promises to stay by Mandy’s side.

Sinead O'Connor, who has started work at the hospital as a nurse, is relieved when she is able to reassure Mandy that she’s found the baby’s heartbeat and Mandy is overjoyed that her little one is still alive.

However, her relief soon turns to fear when medics break the news that some worrying test results have shown up regarding her unborn baby. Mandy is heart-broken and, trying to be supportive, Nancy tells them she wants to forget all the recent upsetting events that have happened between them…she wants them to be friends again. Will Mandy accept her olive branch?

Elsewhere, Laurie Shelby (Kyle Pryor) steps in to take charge of the classroom at Hollyoaks High which has descended into chaos thanks to trouble-maker Juliet Quinn (Niamh Blackshaw). The unruly teen, daughter of Donna Marie,  has gone out of her way to whip up trouble for wannabe teacher, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey).

Sinead's husband, Laurie, shows off his leadership skills when he knows exactly how to regain control of the class and also how to sooth autistic Brooke Hathaway (Talia Grant)  who has become distressed during the commotion.

Will headteacher Sally be impressed with Laurie's actions  and give him a shot at the Deputy Head role he so desperately wants?
