Tonight's episode really brings it home – John, from Yorkshire, had already spent years trying to find his birth father, and with not much to go on it took even the LLF team over 18 months to track him down. While the search ultimately brings some sad news, there's also a wonderful surprise for John.

Meanwhile, Alison, from Hertfordshire, always believed she was an only child – until she found a photo in her late father's wallet that revealed she had a sister.

'Where is she, and why didn't I know about her?' asks Alison – and the hunt for answers goes all the way to Ethiopia.
