Sarah tells Karl of Susan's outburst and he tries to convince her to take the job but Susan won't have any of it. She heads to the lake to calm down and bumps into Paul who reveals he's behind the job offer. Feeling she's made a fool of herself, Susan apologises to Sarah for jumping to conclusions but still turns down the job offer. Karl tries to talk sense into her, admitting he's still in love with her and wants to be with her but Susan stands firm – she only wants his friendship.
Toadie's mum, Angie, turns up on Sonya's doorstep, unaware that the naming day for baby Nell has been cancelled. She decides to stick around anyway, interfering and causing chaos, much to Sonya's frustration.
Vanessa returns to work at the coffee shop but notices that people, including Toadie and Lucas, are behaving strangely around her. She doesn't think much of it until Angie reveals that Toadie and Sonya cancelled their naming day ceremony out of respect for her and baby Patrick. Tired of others deciding what's best for her, Vanessa heads over to Sonya's and insists they hold the ceremony as planned. But is she coping as well as she thinks?
