Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres NL Division Series Preview

The Los Angeles Dodgers (43-17) have two wins down and eleven wins to go to achieve their goal of a World Series title. The Dodgers never trailed in the series with the Brewers, and the only scoring they allowed was on one lone homerun. Starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw was outstanding, with 13 strikeouts and no runs allowed in eight innings. Expect to see Kershaw pitch in game two, and the Dodgers try to use pitching to put the Padres in a hole early and close this series out quickly.

The San Diego Padres (37-23) faced two elimination games in their Wild Card series against the Cardinals, but they won them both with the long ball. The Padres put up five home runs in game two of the series, with three by young stars Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado. Then in game three they allowed no runs and just four hits while using nine different pitchers. None of those pitchers threw even two full innings. If they can make something like that work again in the Division round, they may have a shot against the Dodgers.
