A dramatic chain of events is set leave one character's life in danger...

Just when things seemed to be looking up for the Brannings, Rainie collapses in tonight's EastEnders, leaving both her and little baby Abi in danger.

With it being a year since his daughter Abi died, Max is struggling with reminders of that tragic day on the roof of the Queen Vic pub last Christmas.

But while it is a sad anniversary for Max, there is also some happiness as little baby Abi, his granddaughter, turns one.

Can you believe this was more than a year ago?

Tonight sees Max throw himself into planning a party for baby Abi - determined to make some happier memories now that he has custody of the little one.

But when Max gets stuck at work, he asks Jack to step up and look after Abi - leaving Rainie feeling shut out once again.

Rainie is pleased when she finally gets a job to do, and heads off to collect the birthday cake for the party. But when she suffers a dizzy spell and drops it, Max is far from impressed.

Determined to fix things, Rainie will take on more than she can handle when it comes to the birthday party planning tonight, and before she knows what is happening she takes another turn for the worst and ends up collapsing.

The only problem is she is looking after baby Abi when she passes out and when Max comes home, he finds the baby crying and Rainie out cold on the kitchen floor... but what is wrong with her?

Later this week Max is set to worry about whether Rainie is fit enough to look after Abi, leaving her devastated.

But when her health doesn't get any better, it looks like Rainie might actually be seriously ill, and Max will be so concerned about his wife that he books her a doctors appointment.

But will they be able to get to the bottom of what is wrong?

EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
