Vera, 8 pm, ITV1
Does Vera (Brenda Blethyn) have a hidden maternal side? Well, not exactly, but she’s definitely trying her best in tonight’s final episode when she stumbles across an abandoned baby. With a raging storm battering the area, Vera finds her route home blocked and it’s then she spots a deserted car with a tiny tot on the back seat. Unable to get a phone signal, Vera’s forced to take refuge at nearby Brockburn House, which belongs to her snooty relatives. A fitting finale which gives an intriguing insight into the detective’s estranged family as she attempts to work out what’s happened to the baby’s mother.
