Traces is a new BBC1 drama starring Line of Duty’s Martin Compston. Here’s how to watch Traces online anywhere in the world.

Martin is best known as cop Steve Arnott in Line of Duty, but in this new drama Martin plays a character who comes under suspicion himself.

The story opens with Emma Hedges (played by Molly Windsor) moving to Dundee to start a new job as a lab technician. On the night before she begins work a fatal fire takes place at a nightclub.

Meanwhile, Emma takes an online course teaching the principles of forensic science using a fictional murder case. However, rather than being fictional, it turns out the victim in the case is in fact her mother who was murdered when Emma was just a child!

Soon Emma starts questioning her own family and unable to get straight answers she takes her revelations to DI McKinven (Michael Nardone), who’s friends with her boss.

Emma is also dating a builder (Martin Compson), unaware that he could be implicated in the fire at the nightclub her boss is investigating.

“My character Daniel is in charge of the construction of the nightclub that has burnt down after a massive fire that ended in three fatalities. That is when he meets this fascinating young woman called Emma,” teases Martin.

Traces was previously shown on Alibi.
