How will Al react on Doctors when his mum Eve's new boyfriend Ray gets down on bended knee and pops the question!

Al Haskey (played by Ian Midlane) has already clashed with his mum Eve (Rachel Bell) over her new boyfriend, Ray Hopkins (Bruce Alexander) on Doctors.

Al, who loves a good conspiracy theory, is convinced Ray is a conman who is taking advantage of Eve who has dementia - even though Eve has yet to come clean to Ray about her condition.

But Al and Eve appear to have temporarily called a true when he picks Eve up from the station, ready to take her on a surprise visit to a stately home.

Al is pleased when Eve starts to enjoy the visit, and tells him the stately home reminds her of her gran who used to work in a similar big house.

However, just as Al is beginning to enjoy their time together, Ray unexpectedly turns-up, having tracked Eve's movements using a phone app! Is that a bit creepy?

Eve doesn't seem to think so and likes the fact they always know where the other is.

But there's another BIG surprise in store when Ray gets down on bended knee and asks Eve to marry him in front of a stunned Al! Will Eve say yes?

Elsewhere in Letherbridge, Daniel Granger (Matthew Chambers) wants to be sure his new relationship with Becky Clarke (Ali Bastian) is the real deal before he breaks the news to his young son Joe and teenage daughter Izzie.

But after Daniel overhears the surgery gossip about his soon-to-be ex-wife Zara's (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) date with fireman Guy the previous night, will he realise the time is right for them all to move on?

Meanwhile, things take a dark turn for Dr Jimmi Clay (Adrian Lewis Morgan) when he treats a patient, Mike Wells (Adam Paul Harvey) who was sent to prison years ago for an accidental killing.

However, when Mike becomes a suspect in a current case, Jimmi must question whether he believes Mike is a changed man and should stop being judged because of his past...

Writer

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
