When Daniel arrives to take son Joe off for the weekend, the reality of his and Zara's break-up really hits home. Did they make the right decision?

Zara Carmichael and Daniel Granger have been trying to carry on business as usual at The Mill since the married medics decided to go their separate ways after too many arguments.

However, Daniel's decision to move out is still taking some time to settle in for his wife Zara and the couple's young son Joe Carmichael Granger.

So when Daniel arrives to collect Joe for the weekend, Zara can't help feel sad when Joe seems super-excited and almost forgets to kiss her goodbye. Will they all get used to the new arrangement in time? Or have Daniel and Zara made a mistake in breaking up?

Meanwhile, Al Haskey's 15 minutes of fame continues after he's invited to appear on the radio talking to local shock jock, 'Doctor' Davey Scholes about the video footage that went viral showing Al angrily clashing with the driver of a tourist bus, which almost ran him over.

But the interview takes an unexpected turn when Davey springs a surprise on 'big bus man' Al. Could this be the end of the medic's short-lived fame?

Elsewhere in Letherbridge, policeman Rob Hollins arrives home to discover his wife Karen is all glammed-up and has invited a very special guest to dinner. But who is it?

Doctors continues weekdays at 1:45pm on BBC One

Writer

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
