Ruby tells everyone Esther broke her necklace and encourages them to ignore her. Later, Esther is upset when she notices some hurtful comments left about her on Jono, Neil and Maddie's tribute page. Bart comforts an upset Esther until talk turns to the crash. Bart's stunned to find two traffic police officers at the door. He launches an attack on Esther, which Jen interrupts. It's shocks all round as Seamus walks through the front door! Brendan is furious with Joel and takes his money back. As Seamus swears revenge on whoever's to blame. Mercedes goes to the McQueens with gifts for the unborn baby, which Myra and John Paul assume are for baby Matthew. Convinced her Mum is pregnant, Mercedes then confronts Dirk, to make sure he's going to step up to the mark. He goes to see Myra and when she dumps him, he makes a spectacular gesture to get her back and proposes! Dirk's proposal prompts Myra to reveal that she's got 'a shadow'. The McQueens are devastated, while Dirk is heart-broken, especially when Myra tells him to try and forget her - she hasn't got long left to live.

He has produced TV news and entertainment features on personalities as diverse as Nick Cave, Tom Hardy, Clive James, Jodie Marsh and Kevin Bacon and he co-produced and directed The Ponds, which has screened in UK cinemas, BBC Four and is currently available on Netflix.
An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
