Call the Midwife, 8 pm, BBC One

After weeks of fretting over their wedding preparations, the big day is finally dawning for Trixie (Helen George) and Matthew (Olly Rix), but unfortunately they face a barrage of last-minute hitches! Luckily, Trixie’s rather fabulous brother Geoffrey (ex-Corrie star Christopher Harper) turns up to pour oil on troubled waters, while Phyllis rallies the troops at Nonnatus House. But there are still patients to attend to, as Shelagh supports a pregnant newlywed whose mum and mother-in-law are driving her crazy, while Nancy faces a big dilemma. With tears and joy in abundance, it’s the perfect end to what has been another magnificent series! ★★★★★ CC

Endeavour, 8 pm, ITV1

We’re still in denial that we will soon be saying a fond farewell to the young DS Morse (Shaun Evans) and the gang, but the last-ever run of the classy drama kicks off in style. Endeavour and no-nonsense DCI Fred Thursday (Roger Allam) are bemused after the body of an unidentified man is discovered following a reception for a top orchestra, while one of the musicians later meets their maker. But Fred also gets an unwelcome blast from the past when a veteran crook is gruesomely beaten to death, which opens up a nasty can of worms. And Endeavour’s romantic hopes look set to be shattered once again… ★★★★★ CC

Antiques Roadshow, 7 pm, BBC One

Fiona Bruce in the Florence Nightingale Museum

A special marking the 75th anniversary of the NHS. There are no valuations this week, but moving memories from the caring profession make up for it, including a Naval nurse who travelled to the Falklands to treat troops during the conflict and a nurse caring for AIDS patients in the 1980s. Expert Siobhan Tyrrell examines nursing medals awarded for bravery, while Fiona Bruce chats to former psychiatric nurse Jo Brand, and to Jennifer Worth’s daughter, who reveals how her mother’s nursing career inspired her memoirs and the hit show Call the Midwife. ★★★★ RF

Dinosaur with Stephen Fry, 7 pm, Channel 5

Stephen Fry goes back 68 million years to the Cretaceous period in tonight’s episode, where he discovers a T-Rex was capable of exploding a Triceratops’ thigh bone with the force of its extraordinarily bite. He also learns how the fearsome creatures were scavengers as well as predators and that their keen sense of sight and smell mean it’s likely they were night-time hunters, too. There are some other interesting facts to digest, as Stephen comes face-to-face with a CGI pterosaur, a Quetzalcoatlus, which has the wingspan of a light aircraft. ★★★ HD

The Gold, 9 pm, BBC One, iPlayer (box set)

TONY BRIGHTWELL (EMUN ELLIOTT), HARRY BOWMAN (SILAS CARSON), MAX GOODMAN (PAUL THORNLEY), BRIAN BOYCE (HUGH BONNEVILLE), JOHN FORDHAM (HADLEY FRASER), NICKI JENNINGS (CHARLOTTE SPENCER), NEIL MURPHY (CHRIS COGHILL) gathered together in The Gold

Although it is a dark and at times chilling story, the seams of black humour running through this gripping tale of the Brink’s-Mat robbery add some extra magic, from the little asides uttered by the crooks to the banter between the dogged detectives. But matters are getting serious now because top cop Brian Boyce (Hugh Bonneville) and his team have Kenneth Noye (Jack Lowden) firmly in their sights, although catching the wily fence and nabbing the gold is easier said than done. As Boyce orders surveillance, the chain of money laundering gradually comes to light, but when a raid gets under way, events take a shocking turn… ★★★★ CC
