Celebrity MasterChef, 8 pm, BBC One
Cliff Parisi is used to rolling his sleeves up and getting stuck in as Poplar’s resident handyman Fred Buckle on BBC One's Call the Midwife. Cliff is joined by TV choirmaster Gareth Malone, former world boxing champion Chris Eubank, All Saints singer Melanie Blatt and reality star Queen MoJo, who will all be hoping to impress judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with some tasty treats. Ben Fogle's New Lives in the Country, 9 pm, Channel 5
In the final part of this popular series, Ben Fogle heads to the Highlands, where he meets Yvonne and Alan, who are giving up their nine-to-five lives in the commuter town of Crawley, West Sussex, to move to Scotland, where they’ve gambled everything on a house they bought off the internet (without having seen it!). With life stresses, money worries and an unexpected badger problem to deal with, the couple have certainly got their work cut out, but can they realise their dream of turning this property into a thriving tourism business?

Best box set to watch on TV tonight
A League of Their Own, Prime Video
A League of Their Own is a reboot of the movie of the same name starring Tom Hanks, Geena Davis and Madonna, but with an all-new cast of characters. Like the film, this Prime Video series follows the Rockford Peaches, a girl's team that's been formed in Chicago following the establishment of the ‘Girls Professional Baseball League’. It's a great ride that tackles a variety of contemporary problems including sexism, racism and attitudes to sexuality. The mismatched team of girls includes Carson Shaw (Abbi Jacobson), Max (Chanté Adams), Greta (D'Arcy Carden) and Lupe (Roberta Colindrez), and the Peaches are headed up this time by ex-pro ‘Dove’ Porter, played by Parks and Rec fave, Nick Offerman.

Whiplash, 9 pm, Great! movies
An electrifying battle of wills unfolds as an ambitious young drummer (Miles Teller, who stars in the recent box-office hit Top Gun: Maverick) clashes with JK Simmons’ demanding teacher at an elite New York conservatory in this exhilarating rites-of-passage drama. Substitute the terms teacher and pupil for sadist and masochist and you will get an idea of their relationship. This taskmaster wrings blood, sweat and tears from his protégé. The film conveys the rigours and perils of the pursuit of excellence with sizzling immediacy and the result is a compelling cautionary tale driven by percussive editing and tight performances. Teller is brilliant as the driven musician Andrew Neiman, while Oscar-winner Simmons as his perfectionist mentor makes Full Metal Jacket’s drill sergeant look like a softie.
